Newtel Group: Announces sale of its Guernsey businesses
Guernsey:
The Newtel Group today announces the sale of its Guernsey businesses to Wave Telecom, part of the Jersey Telecom group. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and encompasses all business conducted through Guernsey.Net Limited, Newtel Data Services Limited & Newtel (Guernsey) Limited.
Wave Telecom have already invested significantly in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, and Newtel, whilst thanking its customers for their support over the years, is confident that Wave will provide an excellent service to customers both now and in the future.
To ensure a smooth transition between the two companies, Newtel Guernsey's senior management will continue to work closely with the combined Wave Telecom and Newtel Guernsey team over the coming months. For the time being it will be business as usual for all customers.
Jersey:
The Newtel Group wishes to assure all existing Jersey and Off-island customers that its commitment to providing service in Jersey and on to the U.K. remains as strong as ever.
Gary Whipp, CEO of Newtel, said "The sale of our Guernsey business does not in any way impact negatively on our Jersey business. On the contrary it frees up resources and gives us the capacity to focus on improving and expanding our services to meet rising customer expectations. Telecommunications is a fast moving world and we intend to remain part of it."
